What does the RCA Policy cover?
RCA covers material and bodily damage caused to third parties as a result of a road traffic accident in which you are involved.
What is the limit of liability?
The legal limit is set out in Law No. 106 of 21 April 2022 on compulsory motor third-party liability insurance for damage caused by vehicles, within the limit of EUR 100,000 for material damage; the indemnity limit is EUR 100,000 for one injured person or EUR 500,000 for several injured persons, regardless of their number.
Does RCA insurance cover moral damage?
The liability limit for moral damage is set out in Law No. 106 of 21 April 2022 on compulsory motor third-party liability insurance for damage caused by vehicles, within an indemnity limit of EUR 5,000 for one injured person or EUR 10,000 for several injured persons, regardless of their number.
Compensation of moral damage is paid as follows: (i) in the event of the death of the injured person — 100%, (ii) in the case of severe disability — 90%, accentuated — 60%, medium — 30%.
How can I submit an RCA claim?
As an injured party, you must submit the documents confirming the road accident and ensure access to the damaged property within 5 working days.
What are the risks if I do not have RCA?
Driving a vehicle without holding a compulsory RCAI insurance policy results in legal sanctions, and the responsibility for covering the damage falls on the at-fault person.
